Clear Aligner Therapy is an orthodontic treatment option utilizing a series of clear, nearly invisible, custom-made plastic aligners that are worn over your teeth and work to gradually straighten your teeth into the desired position over time. The clear aligners are custom-made for each patient to ensure that they fit your mouth and teeth perfectly to meet your specific goals. Clear aligners are held in place by the shape of your teeth and small tooth-coloured attachments that are bonded onto specific teeth. These tooth-coloured attachments help the trays apply pressure to specific areas to create the desired results.
Clear aligners are removable, giving you the freedom to eat, drink, brush and floss as you normally would. While treatment times vary between patients, it typically takes 9-15 months to achieve the best results, although some patients see results in even less time. Clear aligners should be worn for 20-22 hours a day, and they should be changed out every two weeks to fit a new configuration. Since the aligners are virtually invisible, no one will know you are receiving orthodontic treatment unless you tell them!
